Sierra Chamber Ensemble Festival

July 28 to Aug 2, 1996

Plan now to join us for an exciting musical experience in the beautiful setting of the High Sierras. We will have coach assisted musical ensembles in the afternoon and evening, plus you will have time to freelance or enjoy the many wonderful summer activities at Mammoth Lakes in the morning. This is an ideal place where your family can join you for the week. Activities include hiking, biking, fishing, golf, tennis and mush more.

The Sierra Chamber Ensemble Festival is open to intermediate and advanced strings, woodwinds, french horns and a few keyboard players and is limited to 50 people. Each day assigned ensembles will work on classical/modern ensemble literature with excellent coaching. This program is being held under the administration of the Sierra Summer Festival at Mammoth Lakes.

There will be a mid-week recital with the Santiago String Quartet and performance symposium of performance literature with optional performances by participants. We will also have a special Friday Night Grand Finale Concert by participants for the town of Mammoth Lakes.

Housing will be in fully furnished resort condominiums Sunday afternoon through Saturday morning (see application for details) or there are many campsites and RV sites around town (further information upon request).

Tuition is $250 and includes professional coaches and Sunday evening buffet dinner, plus college credit through Cerro Coso Community College. Tuition is not required for family members and dinner tickets for Sunday evening will be available.

Please complete the application and return by June 17, 1996, with your tuition check (and housing check if applicable) payable to "Sierra Summer Festival". Acknowledgment letters and festival schedule will be mailed to you by June 27, 1996.
