San Diego Chamber Music Workshop
(20th Season)
Fueled by the same intensity and rigor that has attracted international acclaim to its parent workshop, the San Diego Chamber Music Workshop's Junior Division will accommodate a select group of advanced string musicians for instruction into the art of chamber music reading and performing.
In addition to a daily regimen of small ensemble rehearsals and structured freelancing, musical programs will include master-classes, staff performances, guest concerts, and larger group readings (PRIMO's very own "Midnight Chamber Orchestra").
We are located on the beautiful campus of Scripps College in Claremont, California. The entire campus will be monopolized/terrorized by PRIMO students and staff, as activities are planned utilizing the college's athletic facilities and southern California location.
Our full-time staff (1:5 staff/student ratio) consists of accomplished chamber music coaches and talented, collegiate assistant coaches. PRIMO will accommodate advanced stringed musicians ages 12 - 16 with experience in chamber music. Pianists are urged to apply, especially if they are part of a pre-formed student ensemble.
Looking forward to a great week.
