Chamber Play Day is intended for adult string and keyboard players who would like to improve their ensemble technique and benefit from the expertise of performing artists. We hope to foster new connections and nurture existing links between chamber enthusiasts in the vicinity of Cape Cod, and to encourage the joy of Making Music together.


The Coaches

Gil Morgenstern, violinist and Co-Artistic Director of the Broyhill Chamber Ensemble, has toured extensively on four continents and has performed in forty-five states as a soloist. He is also Artistic Director of An Appalachian Summer, on of the country's leading regional visual and performing arts festivals. He is regularly heard on NPR and is widely recorded.

Cellist. Zuill Bailey has, in addition to giving numerous solo performances in this country, toured the Middle East as part of "Concerts for Peace.: He has performed in Schubert Cello Quintet, with the Muir String Quartet and has collaborated on projects that encompass all areas of the entertainment industry. Mr. Bailey currently resides in New York City where he continues to work with and assist Joel Krosnick, cellist of the Juilliard String Quartet.

Brian Zeger, pianist with the Broyhill chamber Ensemble and Artistic Director of the Cape & Islands Chamber Music festival, has distinguished himself as soloist, ensemble performer, educator and artistic administrator. Mr. Zeger has collaborated with such artists as Itzhak Perlman, JamesGalway, and Marilyn Horne. He is currently a faculty member of the Juilliard School.


Enrollment

Enrollment is open to string and keyboard players of moderate to excellent ability Individuals or pre-existing groups ma apply. Assignment of individuals will be based on self-evaluation of competence. The workshop will be limited to six groups, thus allowing each group at least one hour of coaching per session. An enrollment deadline of April 15 will allow us to make repertoire assignments in advance. Acceptance of applicants will be determined by availability of positions for various instruments and by date of receipt of applications.

Directions

Once on the Cape, take Route 6 east to Exit 6. Go left (west) on Route 132. Watch for the entrance to Cape Cod Community College on the right. Meet at the Tilden Arts Center Building (first building on the left.)
