Enjoy exciting weekends of music making on the beautiful campus of Brown University in historic Providence, Rhode Island. Coaches will include members of The Charleston String Quartet (Charles Sherba and Lois Finkel, violins; Consuelo Sherba, viola, Daniel Harp, cello); Abram Loft, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Chamber Music at the Eastman School of Music and 25-year veteran of the Fine Arts Quartet and Paul Rosenbloom, pianist / composer and Conductor of Musica Dolce. All group and repertoire assignments will be made in advance of arrival.

Pre-formed groups will be given preference for
admission. A maximum of 10 groups will be accepted
per weekend.

COST: $125 PER PARTICIPANT PER WEEKEND

A deposit of $75 per weekend is requested with this form. Please make checks payable to The Charleston String Quartet. Payment in full is due upon arrival.

Application and deposit deadline
is December 10, 2000.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 20 / MARCH 24

2:30 - 5:00 pm Afternoon rehersal

7:00 - 9:00 pm (1/20) Kinloch Earle of the Van Swieten Quartet will give a short history of the bow and lead us in a reading of Bachs Brandenburg No. 3 with Period pows (provided).

7:00 - 9:00 pm (3/24) Alexander Technique: An Introduction with Mara Sokolsky

SUNDAY, JANUARY 21 / MARCH 25
9:00 - 10:15 am Lectures by Abram Loft (1/20) Mozart's Chamber Music: Operas Without Qords; (3/24) The World As Seen Over The Chinrest

3:15 Informal recital

All groups ready and willing may perform in a recital in Grant Recital Hall.

Some scholarship assistance is available.

Participants must make their own arrangement for room and board. Information about Bed & Breakfasts with easy accessibility to the Brown University campus or campus accommodations are available upon request. For those interested in sharing accommodations, we will be happy to coordinate roommate inforamation.
