Saint Croix is a small hill village on the banks of the Drôme. Its hillside near Die is renowned for its famous wine «Clairette de Die». This region in the South of Vercors, on the edge of Haute-Provence offers wonderful mountain landscapes with pine forests and rivers. The climate reflects that of the South of France.The Old Renovated Monastery provides privileged facilities for cultural activities and recreation. It has pleasant rooms for working and 26 bedrooms with 1, 2 or 3 beds accommodating approximately 40 persons. The cooking is traditional local style and includes local wines.
The Workshop is open to proficient string players who wish to improve their technique by individual work as well as in group sessions. The groups are selected and music is assigned in advance. Participants are advised at least 1 month before the course. The evenings are free for informal playing and afternoons open for leisure activities.
The programme comprises 2 working session per day and 1 free session in the evening. Private lessons are available on request. A short presentation by the participants takes place at the end of the course and a public closing concert is presented by the Kocian QUARTET. Cello rental is possible.
