Spend a week vacation and play chamber music in a Swiss Chalet at Lake Geneva with the Bridge String Quartet from London. Blonay is a village above Vevy/Mountreux overlooking the Lake of Geneva and the French Savoie. Geneva airport is 80 km away with easy access by road or rail. The towns of Lausanne, and Vevey, Chillon Castle, lakeside and mountains provide many possibilities for excursions.

The Hindemith Foundation welcomes amateur and professional musicians, providing privileged facilities with practice rooms, pianos, music stands and a large library. Modern rooms with 2 beds and shower in the annexe and more classic accommodation in the main house provide facilities for 30 to 40 persons. A lovely park with large trees is available for relaxation. The cooking is family style.

The Workshop is open to proficient string players who wish to improve their technique by individual work as well as in group sessions. The groups are selected and music is assigned in advance. Participants are advised at least 1 mont before the course. The evenings are free for informal playing and afternoons open for leisure activities.

The programme comprises 2 working session per day and 1 free session in the evening. Private lessons are available on request. A short presentation by the participants takes place at the end of the course and a public closing concert is presented by Bridge String Quartet. Cello. Cello rental is possible.

Price is SFr 825.-, Non players SFr 775.-, students SFr 725

(based on min. 20 participants. If less, SFr 100 - extra). Arrival: Sunday morning 27 June 1999.

Departure: Saturday morning 3 July 1999.
